A creative and accomplished industrial designer with twenty years of experience in design. Originally from Bogota, Colombia, Martin used his advanced specialization in woodworking to help artisan and indigenous communities on the Pacic coast of Colombia develop marketable wood products and handcrafts. He has also won awards in national and international street furniture design competitions and contemporary furniture.
After coming to the US in 2000, he worked on commercial space and furniture design,and has specialized in custom picture frame moulding design. Formal variations about the same object is an esthetic exploration of a simple element that everybody is familiar with. I have always been attracted to bridge structure designs, and my three dimensional wire sculptures remind me of those structures.
