Hi, my name is Edna Woofter. I am an Edmond, Oklahoma native and a graduate of Edmond Memorial High School. I have loved drawing and painting since I was a little girl. I studied art while at Memorial High and continued my studies another two years at the University of Central Oklahoma.
It was my good fortune to work for Ed Peck at University Arts and Crafts in Edmond for eight years. It was there I first began learning the business aspects of the art world. I assisted customers with questions concerning paint supplies, custom framing, and mat colors. It was at University Arts and Crafts I acquired the understanding and knowledge to create custom mats and frames. The experience with Ed would serve me well in my future business endeavors.
For the previous 20 years, I have been working as a custom interior designer and in-home design referral consultant. I did an extensive amount of custom floral arrangements using silk flowers, and my knowledge of color to assist clients in paint selections, furniture designs, room layout and custom drapery selections.
My husband Richard and I recently retired. This is a great time for us. We get to travel more frequently and particularly like to visit our nation’s national parks. It is also a wonderful opportunity for me to focus more on my art. I love to paint outdoors whenever possible, particularly landscapes and buildings with their own distinct personalities.
In 2015, I participated in a plein-art workshop with Stacey Peterson in beautiful Evergreen, Colorado and done a webinar and DVD study with Mitch Baird. I love nature with all its colors, shapes and designs. I feel we should all find our own definition of beauty in the great outdoors. I hope you enjoy my interpretation of our great landscapes as much as I have enjoyed presenting them.
